2017 was a difficult year. It was a crazy year of highs and lows, especially at work. While I’m amazed by how quickly 2017 went by, I’m SO READY to start fresh and make 2018 a spectacularly good year (hopefully).
I’m hoping to blog more consistently in 2018, get a job promotion at work, read all the books, and also save lots of money. (I’m hoping to move into my own place in 2019, so that means serious budgeting is necessary…) I’m not quite sure how I’m going to save money and read all the books, but I’ll make it happen somehow. It probably will mean reading more library books and books that I already own versus the coveted new releases. GAH, my poor heart is breaking…
Speaking of new releases (I can’t have), let’s talk January new releases. Who doesn’t need a new book to start the new year? Here are a few I’m hoping someone will gift me and in turn save my poor wallet.
1. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black (1/2) – This is a new Faerie series by Holly Black. The synopsis is intriguing, and THE HYPE IS STRONG. So basically, I’m really excited to read it, but also trying not to set my expectations too high.
2. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson (1/16) – My YA Mystery loving heart is dying to read this book. It’s another start to a new series. (Why are there so many new series?!?) I’m usually cautious of new series because I’m terrible at waiting, but I’m liking the idea of a story about a mysterious cold case linked to a famous private school.
3. Say You’ll Remember Me by Katie McGarry (1/30) – Shockingly, I didn’t hear much about this book until I was putting together this list. I’m a fan of McGarry’s YA romances, and I’m liking the sound of Say You’ll Remember Me. A romance about a boy wrongly accused of a crime seeking a way to right his life and the daughter of the governor wanting to forge her own path. Can’t wait!
What other books should I be adding to my TBR of books I want but should not buy? Do you have any New Year resolutions or goals? I’d love to chat!
