It’s February!

Hello. Hello. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? The last couple of weeks has been a bit of a rollercoaster for me. My emotions were all over the place, but mostly I felt pretty burnt out and low. So I did what any good book lover does, and I read a ton of books. So many books. I probably read half the number of books I read last year in the span of one month. (I barely did anything but work, eat, read, and sleep.) Most of the books I read were romance novels. I really tried to get into Sadie by Courtney Summers; however, it was just too dark for me with my current emotional low. Therefore, fluffy romances and rereads it was.

But it’s February now! & I have high hopes for this month. It’s my birthday month, and I have a vacation coming up in a few days. I hope everything calms down for me, and I hope to get books! *crossing my fingers* There is a book in one of my wrapped gifts. I do hope to also venture out of my romance novels binge. I would like to tackle Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein, Warcross by Marie Lu, and Smoke and Key by Kelsey Sutton this month.

February Anticipated Releases

Let’s talk about the great books coming out in February. I know there are a ton of great books coming out. Many of them I have forgotten at this very moment. Feel free to let me know what books you’re anticipating in the comments to help freshen up my memory. Regardless, here are a few of the books I could remember. 😛

1. We Told Six Lies by Victoria Scott (2/5) – I don’t think I’ve read a mystery/thriller by Victoria Scott before. Has she written a novel in this genre that I don’t know about? Anyway, I just think it’d be interesting to see where Scott goes with this. I really enjoyed her Fire & Flood series. (I’m still hoping for a book 3 because I swear that series feels unfinished.) So I’m interested in reading We Told Six Lies. I also recently picked up Titans at a used books sale, which I hope to read sometime soon.

2. Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss by Kasie West (2/5) – I feel like Kasie West is one of the queens of YA contemporary romance novels, or at least she writes a lot of good ones. & I think with my most recent reading mood, Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss would fit right in. Plus, I always love a book that takes place in the Hollywood world. It reminds me of that one point in my childhood when I wanted to work in film. It’s nostalgic.

3. Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner (2/26) – This just sounds like a fantastic YA contemporary story about friendship and growing up, and I’m all for that. It has great reviews, and the plot involves movies somehow. (Scary movies, but that’s okay.) This just sounds like an all around good read.

So what books are you anticipating this month? What have you been reading lately? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the books I’m anticipating. Let me know in the comments!
